Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The upstand should be installed after the worktop and before the wall cabinets are fully fitted, or as a final touch to an existing kitchen. It requires appropriate adhesive suitable for laminate surfaces and kitchen environments. Ensure the wall and worktop are clean and dry before application. Cut the upstand to size using a fine-tooth saw for clean edges. Apply adhesive evenly to the back of the upstand or the wall surface as per adhesive manufacturer instructions, then press firmly into place. Ensure a continuous bead of silicone sealant is applied along the top edge where it meets the wall, and at any corner joints, to prevent moisture ingress.
Compatibility: This upstand is designed to complement the Options Plus range of laminate kitchen worktops. It can also be used with most standard kitchen worktops. Ensure the dimensions (3000mm x 100mm x 20mm) are suitable for your specific kitchen layout. It is recommended for use on walls directly behind worktops in areas prone to splashes, such as behind sinks and hobs.
Care: Clean the upstand regularly using a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent if necessary. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the laminate surface. Wipe up spills immediately to prevent staining. For stubborn marks, a diluted bleach solution can be used sparingly, followed by thorough rinsing with clean water. Ensure the sealant around the edges remains intact and reapply if necessary to maintain protection.
