Yes, the kit comes with all necessary fixings and fittings required for a complete installation.
No, this kit is specifically designed for wooden garden gates.
The kit includes three hinges, each measuring 300mm (12 inches) in length.
The auto-close latch included is primarily for keeping the gate shut; if you require additional security, a secondary padlockable hasp may be needed.
Simply wipe down with a damp cloth periodically and ensure no debris is stuck in the hinge pivots.
Verify that the gate post is firmly anchored in the ground and not loose. Adjust the hinge screws to ensure they are seated deeply into solid wood.
Check the alignment of the latch and the strike plate. If the gate has shifted due to weather, adjust the strike plate position slightly to allow for a smooth engagement.
To install, ensure your gate and post are level before marking pilot holes. Use the provided hardware to secure the three tee hinges to the gate and the corresponding post face. Once the hinges are secured, align the auto-close latch mechanism to ensure the strike plate engages correctly. Regarding care, while the hardware is finished for outdoor use, applying a light coat of exterior metal wax or clear sealant annually can help preserve the black finish and prevent rust in particularly wet or coastal climates.
