Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before installation, ensure you have the appropriate screw type for your specific mounting surface (e.g., wood screws for timber frames).
- Preparation: Measure and mark the hinge positions on both the door and the frame.
- Pilot Holes: Drill small pilot holes to prevent the wood from splitting during the final screw insertion.
- Mounting: Align the hinge and drive the screws through the strap holes into the door, then secure the plate to the frame.
- Maintenance: Periodically check screws for tightness. The epoxy coating is weather-resistant, but wiping the hinges down with a soft, damp cloth once a season helps maintain the finish and removes debris that could lead to abrasion.
