Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Dr. Martens 1460 Serena boots come pre-laced. To ensure a snug and comfortable fit:
- Loosen Laces: Untie and loosen the laces all the way down to the third eyelet from the bottom.
- Insert Foot: Slide your foot into the boot, ensuring your heel sits firmly at the back.
- Tighten Gradually: Starting from the bottom, pull the laces evenly to tighten them, working your way up to the top. This helps distribute pressure and prevents discomfort.
- Tie Securely: Tie the laces firmly in a double knot or preferred method.
Compatibility
These boots are a versatile addition to any cold-weather wardrobe. They pair well with a variety of styles, from casual jeans and sweaters to more edgy dresses or skirts with tights. Designed for adult wearers, they are suitable for various casual and semi-casual occasions in autumn and winter.
Care
To maintain the quality and extend the life of your Orleans leather Dr. Martens Serena boots:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the leather with a damp cloth after each use to remove dirt and dust. For stubborn marks, use a specialized leather cleaner.
- Conditioning: The Orleans leather is soft and waxy. To keep it supple and prevent drying or cracking, apply a quality leather conditioner or Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam regularly. Rub it in with a soft cloth, allowing it to soak in before buffing.
- Protection: Apply a water and stain protector specifically designed for leather to enhance resistance against moisture and spills.
- Lining Care: For the artificial fur lining, gently brush it with a soft brush to remove debris. If heavily soiled, a very lightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, ensuring it dries completely and away from direct heat.
- Drying: If your boots get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can damage the leather.
