Full details
The Trespass Uliston Half Zip Fleece is an ideal mid-layer for active children who need reliable warmth during outdoor play or school activities. Featuring specialized Airtrap technology, this fleece balances thermal retention with essential breathability to prevent overheating, though users should note that as a lightweight 160gsm garment, it works best as part of a layering system rather than as a standalone heavy winter coat.

FAQs
Is this fleece windproof?
No, it is designed for thermal insulation and breathability. It is best used as a mid-layer under a windproof shell.
What is Airtrap technology?
Airtrap is a fabric construction that traps warm air in the material, providing insulation while allowing sweat and moisture to evaporate.
Can this be tumble dried?
It is recommended to air dry the fleece to preserve the fabric finish and prevent shrinkage.
Does the material pill easily?
The Uliston features an anti-pilling finish, meaning it is designed to resist the formation of small balls of fabric over time.
Is the zip easy for a child to use?
Yes, the half-zip design with an auto-lock feature is designed to be user-friendly for children to adjust themselves.
Troubleshooting
Zip feels stuck or difficult to pull
Check for loose fabric caught in the teeth of the auto-lock zip and ensure the track is free of debris.
Fleece feels less warm than expected
Ensure it is being worn as a mid-layer; it is designed to be used under a windproof or waterproof outer layer.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Lightweight and non-restrictive for active kids
- Effective thermal management with Airtrap technology
- Easy to layer under jackets or over base layers
- Resistant to pilling for long-lasting appearance
Cons
- Limited to mid-layer warmth, not windproof
- Specific sizing requires careful checking for growing children
- Requires machine washing with care to maintain softness
Setup, Compatibility & Care
This fleece is a standalone garment that integrates seamlessly with other Trespass outdoor gear. To maintain the fleece's integrity and anti-pilling properties, machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle with similar colors. Avoid using harsh fabric softeners which can degrade the moisture-wicking properties of the synthetic fibers. Hang to dry to prevent shrinkage or heat damage to the zip mechanism.
