Full details

The Nike Academy Quarter Zip Top is an essential performance layer designed for active kids who need reliable moisture management during training sessions or outdoor sports. Featuring signature Dri-FIT technology and strategically placed mesh panels, this top excels at keeping young athletes dry and cool by wicking sweat away from the body. FAQs

Can this top be worn in the rain?

It is made of polyester which does not absorb much water, but it is not waterproof. It is best used for moisture management during intense movement.

How should I wash it?

Machine wash cold with similar colors. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners, as these can damage the Dri-FIT technology.

Are the thumbholes durable?

Yes, they are reinforced to withstand regular use during athletic training.

Does it shrink in the dryer?

To prevent shrinking or damage to the synthetic fabric, always use low heat settings or hang to dry.

Is this suitable for all seasons?

Its moisture-wicking properties make it ideal for spring and autumn, and it can be layered under heavier jackets during winter.

Troubleshooting

Fabric feels damp after training

Ensure the top is not being worn underneath a non-breathable jacket which traps moisture inside the system.

Static buildup on the fabric

Avoid over-drying in the machine; remove while slightly damp or use a small amount of dryer-safe anti-static product.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent moisture-wicking capabilities for intense activities
Adjustable temperature control via the quarter-zip
Breathable mesh panels prevent overheating
Thumbholes ensure a secure fit during dynamic movements
Durable polyester construction holds up well to frequent washing

Cons

Requires careful temperature settings during laundry to protect synthetic fibers
Slimmer athletic fit may feel restrictive for some children
Limited to specific age-group sizing

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of the garment's Dri-FIT properties, avoid using fabric softeners, as these can clog the moisture-wicking fibers. Machine wash the top in cold water with similar colors and tumble dry on a low setting or hang to dry. This item is designed to be worn as a mid-layer or a standalone training top, making it highly compatible with base layers or team jerseys. Always check the size label, specifically the age and generic size metrics, to ensure the optimal athletic fit for the child.
