FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for everyday walking?
While technically wearable, they are engineered specifically for elite road running and may feel unstable or overly firm for casual walking.
What is the primary difference between these and standard trainers?
The inclusion of a carbon-fiber PWRPLATE and the elite-grade NITROFOAM make these significantly more propulsive and lighter than standard daily trainers.
Can I use these for marathon distances?
Yes, the 40 mm stack height and energy-returning foam are designed to provide comfort and speed through long-distance road races.
How should I clean my Deviate NITRO Elite 4s?
Use a soft brush and a damp cloth with mild soap; do not submerge them in water or place them in a dryer.
Are these shoes good for overpronation?
These are built as a neutral shoe; runners with significant overpronation may require extra stability features not present in this model.
Troubleshooting
Feeling discomfort in the arch after long runs
Ensure the shoe is tied securely to lock the midfoot in place and consider checking if your foot strike is compatible with a neutral shoe.
Midsole foam feels less responsive over time
Foams naturally compress over high mileage; if you have surpassed the recommended running life of the shoe, it may be time to cycle in a new pair.
Pros and Cons

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the best performance from your Puma Deviate NITRO Elite 4, verify that the size is correct for your foot shape—ensure a secure fit in the midfoot with enough room in the toe box to accommodate natural swelling during long runs.
Care Instructions:
- Air dry the shoes after wet runs by removing the insoles and placing them in a ventilated area, away from direct heat sources.
- Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth to remove road debris and dirt.
- Avoid machine washing, as the high-heat cycle and agitation can compromise the bonding of the midsole and the integrity of the carbon plate.
- Store in a cool, dry place to maintain foam longevity.
