Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting your Sony BRAVIA 3 ready and maintaining it for optimal performance is straightforward.
Initial Setup
- Unboxing and Placement: Carefully remove the TV from its packaging. Decide whether to use the included stand or a VESA-compatible wall mount (sold separately). If using the stand, attach it securely according to the instructions. Place the TV on a stable surface with adequate ventilation.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the TV and then to a power outlet.
- Peripheral Connections: Connect your external devices (e.g., Blu-ray player, gaming console, soundbar) to the TV's HDMI ports. Ensure cables are securely seated.
- First-Time Setup Wizard: Power on the TV. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your language, country/region, and connect to your Wi-Fi network. You will be prompted to sign in with your Google account to enable Google TV features and access apps.
Compatibility
- HDMI: Multiple HDMI ports allow connection of various devices such as gaming consoles, cable boxes, Blu-ray players, and streaming sticks.
- Wi-Fi/Ethernet: Built-in Wi-Fi and an Ethernet port ensure seamless internet connectivity for Google TV, streaming, and software updates.
- Bluetooth: Connect compatible Bluetooth headphones or speakers for a private listening experience or enhanced audio.
- USB: USB ports allow playback of media from external storage devices or connecting compatible peripherals.
Care and Maintenance
- Screen Cleaning: Gently wipe the screen with a dry, soft microfiber cloth to remove dust. For smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water (do not spray directly on the screen) and wipe gently, then dry with a clean part of the cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- General Cleaning: Dust the TV's frame and vents regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Ensure vents are not blocked to prevent overheating.
- Ventilation: Ensure there is sufficient space around the TV for proper airflow, especially if wall-mounted or placed in a cabinet.
- Power Management: For extended periods of non-use, consider unplugging the TV to save energy and protect against power surges.
