FAQs

Are these trainers suitable for running or sports?

No, the PUMA Palermo Trainers are designed as a classic lifestyle and fashion shoe, not for athletic performance or running.

How should I clean the suede material?

Use a soft suede brush for daily dust removal. For stains, use a suede eraser or a specialized suede cleaning kit. Avoid water as much as possible.

Can I machine wash my Palermo trainers?

No, machine washing is not recommended as it can damage the suede, leather, and overall construction of the shoes. Always clean by hand.

What is the 'T-toe construction'?

The T-toe construction refers to the distinctive T-shaped overlay panel at the front of the shoe's toe box, a classic design element of many retro PUMA models.

How do I protect my trainers from water and stains?

Before wearing, apply a reputable suede and leather protector spray. Reapply periodically according to the product's instructions.

Are these true to size?

PUMA trainers generally fit true to size. We recommend ordering your usual UK shoe size, which for this product is 6.5. If unsure, consider trying them on or consulting a size guide.

What kind of socks should I wear with these trainers?

For optimal comfort, wear athletic or casual socks that fit well and wick moisture, depending on the weather and your preference.

What is the 'Ruby Shimmer/Alpine Snow' colour?

Ruby Shimmer is a vibrant red hue, complemented by Alpine Snow, which is an off-white or cream colour, creating a bold colour-blocked aesthetic.

Troubleshooting

Suede looks dull or matted

Gently brush the suede with a specialized suede brush to restore its nap and appearance.

Stains on suede

Use a suede eraser or a dedicated suede cleaner following the product's instructions. Test on an inconspicuous area first.

Leather Formstrip appears dry or cracked

Apply a small amount of quality leather conditioner using a soft cloth, then buff gently. Repeat periodically.

Shoes feel too tight or uncomfortable

Ensure you have the correct size. Try adjusting the lacing. The suede material may soften and conform to your foot with wear.

Colour fading

Store trainers away from direct sunlight. Over time, natural wear can occur, but proper storage helps preserve the colour.

Care

Suede Care:
Regular Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled suede brush to gently remove dirt and dust. Brush in one direction.
Stain Removal: For tougher stains, use a specialized suede cleaner and follow product instructions carefully. Blot, do not rub.
Protection: Apply a suede protector spray before first wear and periodically thereafter to repel water and stains.
Avoid Water: Suede is sensitive to water; prolonged exposure can cause discoloration and damage. If wet, stuff with paper to maintain shape and let air dry away from direct heat.
Leather Formstrip Care:
Wiping: Gently wipe the leather parts with a soft, damp cloth to remove surface dirt.
Conditioning: Use a leather conditioner occasionally to keep the leather supple and prevent cracking.
General Care:
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use shoe trees to help maintain their shape.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the materials and colours.
Drying: Never machine wash or machine dry. Always air dry naturally.
