KPA stands for Kinetic Polymer Alloy. It's a proprietary blend of polycarbonate, thermoplastics used in aerospace, and other materials developed by LS2. It offers a unique combination of being extremely light, having high puncture resistance, and the flexibility needed for advanced energy absorption, meeting high safety standards.
The LS2 FF812 is a full-face helmet designed for general motorcycle use, including street riding and potentially some track day introductory use, adhering to the ECE 22.06 safety standard. Always ensure it meets the specific requirements for your type of riding.
The inner lining is removable and washable. Hand wash it using mild soap and cool water. Let it air dry completely before putting it back in the helmet.
The helmet visor is prepared for Pinlock Max Vision, meaning it has the necessary posts. However, the Pinlock insert itself is typically sold separately.
ECE 22.06 is the latest European safety standard for motorcycle helmets. It involves more rigorous testing procedures and impact tests than previous standards, ensuring a higher level of safety.
A properly fitting helmet should be snug against your head without applying uncomfortable pressure. The cheek pads should touch your cheeks, and the helmet should not move excessively when you shake your head. The emergency release system on the cheek pads allows for easy removal by emergency services if needed.
Check the fit. The helmet should be snug but not painful. Adjust the chin strap. If the fit is consistently off, consider if a different size is needed. The laser-cut foam aims for a precise fit.
Ensure the visor is clean. For persistent fogging, consider purchasing and installing a Pinlock Max Vision insert, as the helmet is prepared for it.
Ensure all ventilation openings (upper, chin, rear exhaust) are clear of obstructions. Check that the internal channeled EPS pathways are not blocked by the lining or debris.
Remove the lining and hand wash it with mild soap and cool water. Allow it to air dry completely before reassembling.
