FAQs

Are the batteries included with the candle?

No, the TruGlow® Waterproof Outdoor Candle requires 2 x C batteries, which are sold separately.

What does IP44 rated mean?

IP44 rating means the candle is protected against solid objects over 1mm (like wires) and protected against water splashes from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor environments but not for submersion.

How long do the batteries typically last?

You can expect up to 1200 hours of illumination time from a single set of batteries, depending on usage and battery quality.

Can I use this candle indoors?

While the candle is safe to use indoors due to its LED nature, it is specifically designed and waterproofed for outdoor conditions. Using it indoors is possible but not its primary intended application.

How does the 6-hour timer work?

When set to the timer mode, the candle will automatically turn on for 6 hours and then turn off. It will then activate again at the same time the following day.

What are the exact dimensions of the candle?

The candle measures approximately 20cm in height and 10cm in diameter.

Does the flame get hot?

No, the LED flame remains cool to the touch, making it safe to handle and place near flammable materials.

What is the warranty period for this candle?

Information regarding the warranty period is not provided in the product description. Please refer to the retailer or manufacturer's website for warranty details.

Troubleshooting

Candle does not turn on.

Check that the batteries are correctly inserted with the correct polarity. Ensure fresh batteries are used, as depleted batteries may not power the candle. Verify the ON/OFF/Timer switch is in the correct position.

Timer function is not working.

Confirm the switch is set to the 6-hour timer position. Ensure the candle was turned on at the desired time for the timer to initiate its daily cycle. Check battery levels, as low power can affect timer accuracy.

Flickering effect is inconsistent.

This can sometimes be due to low battery power. Try replacing the batteries with new ones. Ensure the candle is not subjected to strong winds, which might affect the LED's perceived flicker.

Candle is exposed to excessive water and stops working.

While waterproof (IP44 rated), it is not designed for submersion. If water has entered the battery compartment, carefully remove the batteries, dry the compartment thoroughly, and allow the candle to air dry completely before reinserting new batteries.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: To set up your TruGlow® candle, first ensure you have 2 x C batteries (sold separately). Open the battery compartment, typically located at the base of the candle, and insert the batteries according to the polarity markings. Close the compartment securely. Switch the candle to the desired mode: ON for continuous light, OFF to power down, or the 6-hour timer mode. The timer will activate for 6 hours at the same time each day it is switched on.

Compatibility: This candle is designed for outdoor use and is compatible with standard C-type batteries. It is not designed for indoor use where excessive heat or humidity might be present. It can be paired with other outdoor lighting or garden decor.

Care: Wipe the exterior of the candle with a soft, damp cloth to clean. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the plastic casing. Ensure the battery compartment is dry before inserting batteries. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
