Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the door maintains its FD30 certification, you must install it using fire-rated linings, intumescent seals, and compatible fire-rated hardware, such as hinges and latches.
- Trimming: You may trim the door to fit your frame, but you must seal all exposed raw wood edges with a high-quality wood finish or fire-rated varnish to prevent moisture ingress and maintain fire integrity.
- Hardware Installation: Always use ironmongery that is certified for use with fire doors.
- Maintenance: Regularly inspect the intumescent seals around the frame to ensure they have not become damaged or detached. Clean the oak surface periodically with a damp, soft cloth; avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the factory finish.
