The Craghoppers Compresslite IX Hooded Jacket is designed for active adults who prioritize warmth and portability, making it an excellent choice for hikers, travelers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Its primary benefit is the combination of high-loft synthetic insulation with a space-saving design that packs into its own stuff sack for easy storage, though users should note that while it features a water-repellent finish, it is not a fully waterproof rain shell.

It is water-repellent thanks to the H2OShield finish, which helps shed light rain, but it is not classified as waterproof for heavy storms.
It is designed as an insulating mid-layer or outer layer. It is likely too bulky to fit comfortably under another jacket.
Simply feed the jacket into its internal or provided stuff sack, compressing the air out as you go.
Yes, it is machine washable on a gentle cycle. Always check the internal garment label for specific temperature instructions.
ThermoPro mimics the performance of natural down, offering excellent warmth and heat retention while remaining lightweight and durable.
The hood features elasticated herringbone binding for a snug, secure fit but does not have a toggle-based adjustment system.
The DWR (H2OShield) coating may have worn off. Wash the jacket and apply a standard outdoor garment re-proofing spray, then tumble dry low to reactivate.
Remove the jacket from the stuff sack and gently shake it out. Tumble drying on a low heat setting for 10-15 minutes will help restore the loft.
To keep your jacket in peak condition, store it unpacked when you are at home to allow the synthetic fibers to maintain their loft. When cleaning, machine wash on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent—avoid using fabric softeners as they can interfere with the H2OShield water-repellent coating. Tumble dry on a low setting with a couple of tennis balls to help fluff the insulation back into place. For the H2OShield finish to remain effective, you may need to apply a technical garment re-proofer if you notice water no longer beads up on the surface.
