Product Information

Full details

The Carp Life Eclipse Camo MF Combi Mat is an essential tool for dedicated carp anglers who prioritize fish welfare and safe handling during the unhooking process. Featuring a premium high-density memory foam base and a protective, fish-friendly cover, this mat offers superior cushioning to ensure the safety of your catch on any terrain. While it provides excellent protection, its substantial padded structure means it takes up more space in your tackle bag compared to lightweight, non-padded unhooking mats.

FAQs

What are the open dimensions?

The mat measures 115cm in length, 70cm in width, and 15cm in height.

How do I carry the mat?

It comes with two padded grab handles and an adjustable shoulder strap for easy transport.

Is the cover removable?

The cover is designed to be kept over the fish for safety but can be folded back to allow for easy access when unhooking.

Can I fold it with gear inside?

While it may be tempting, we recommend folding the mat alone to prevent damage to the memory foam and to maintain the mat's shape.

What is the material on the bottom?

The base is made from a heavy-duty PVC material for maximum durability and water resistance.

Troubleshooting

Mat seems to hold water after cleaning

Ensure the mat is laid flat in a ventilated area to allow the foam and outer fabric to dry fully.

Mat slips on sloped surfaces

Use the four built-in pegging points to anchor the mat into the bank soil to prevent movement.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Superior protection due to high-density memory foam
Easy to clean thanks to the durable PVC underside
Compact folding design for easier storage
Secure cover keeps fish calm and safe
Multiple carry options for convenience

Cons

Larger folded footprint than basic foam mats
Padding adds weight compared to flat unhooking slings
Requires proper drying before folding to prevent odors

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up the mat, simply undo the fasteners and unfold it to reveal the memory foam surface. Use the integrated pegging points to secure the mat to the ground if conditions are breezy. Compatibility is universal; the 115 x 70cm footprint is generous enough for the vast majority of specimen carp.

Care instructions:

After each session, rinse the mat with lake water or a gentle hose to remove debris and fish slime.
Allow the mat to air dry completely in a shaded area before folding it for storage.
Avoid leaving the mat in direct, intense sunlight for extended periods to protect the material integrity.
Ensure the mat is completely dry before placing it into long-term storage to prevent mold.
