Setup, Compatibility & Care
Preparing for Wear
Upon receiving your dress, gently unpack it. Due to the satin material, it may have creases from packaging. To prepare the dress:
- Steaming: Use a garment steamer to carefully remove any wrinkles. Hold the steamer a few inches away from the fabric and work from top to bottom. Avoid direct, high heat from an iron, as this can damage satin.
- Hanging: Hang the dress on a padded hanger in a cool, dry place until the event to maintain its shape and prevent new wrinkles.
Compatibility
This dress is designed to be versatile and suitable for various bridesmaid body types, thanks to its flattering wrap waist and flowing silhouette. The halterneck style provides good support and an elegant line for different bust sizes.
Care Instructions
Proper care is essential to maintain the luxurious look and feel of the satin fabric.
- Cleaning: Refer to the garment's care label for specific cleaning instructions. Generally, dry cleaning is recommended for satin dresses to preserve the fabric and structure. If hand washing is an option (check label), use cold water and a mild detergent, then air dry flat or on a padded hanger away from direct sunlight.
- Storage: Store the dress on a padded hanger to prevent shoulder bumps and fabric creasing. Keep it in a breathable garment bag to protect it from dust and environmental factors.
- Stain Removal: For small spills, gently blot with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this can spread the stain or damage the satin fibers. Professional dry cleaning is best for stubborn stains.
- Wrinkle Prevention: After wearing, re-hang the dress immediately. For travel, roll the dress loosely or pack it flat in a garment bag to minimize creasing. A portable steamer is highly recommended for touch-ups.
