It is not recommended to machine wash Converse trainers as it can damage the materials and rubber soles; spot cleaning is the safest method.
The classic Chuck Taylor silhouette is moderately narrow, but the lace-up design allows for some adjustment in width.
The Converse Chuck Taylor series is generally true to size, so a 5.5 is likely to provide a little extra room for growth.
These trainers feature a classic flat sole design; if your child requires specific arch support, adding an orthotic insole is recommended.
While the rubber sole provides grip, the canvas upper is not waterproof and will absorb water, so they are best suited for dry conditions.
Double-knot the laces or swap them for elastic no-tie laces for younger children.
Use a fabric-safe sneaker cleaner or a mild detergent solution to spot clean and restore the vibrant black finish.
Loosen the laces down to the second eyelet from the bottom to allow the tongue to expand and create a wider opening.
To ensure the longevity of your Converse Throwback Hi trainers, start by adjusting the laces to the child's foot width before first use. Compatibility-wise, these shoes fit standard children's foot shapes; if the child wears thick socks, consider sizing up by a half-size. To care for them, use a soft-bristled brush to remove dried mud or dust. For deeper stains on the canvas, spot clean with a mixture of mild soap and warm water. Avoid machine washing, as this can degrade the glue and canvas integrity over time. Air dry in a shaded area to prevent fading.
