While the leather construction offers natural water resistance, they are not classified as waterproof; it is recommended to apply a leather-safe water repellent spray for extra protection.
The Firetrap Tam Boots follow standard UK adult sizing. It is recommended to choose your regular shoe size, keeping in mind that leather footwear may stretch slightly with use.
These boots are versatile for light hiking and outdoor adventures, though for extreme or technical mountaineering, specialized footwear may be required.
Wipe away dirt with a damp, soft cloth or a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners that could damage the leather surface.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using shoe trees will help the boots retain their shape.
Wear the boots for short periods indoors to allow the leather to soften and mold to your feet.
Use a matching leather polish or cream to buff out minor scuffs and restore the black finish.
Remove the insoles to air dry and use a shoe tree to help maintain shape and absorb lingering moisture.
To ensure your Firetrap Tam Boots remain in peak condition, proper care is essential. Since these are made from genuine leather, avoid soaking them in water. If they become wet, allow them to air dry away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can cause the leather to crack. Regularly clean off dirt with a soft brush and apply a suitable leather conditioner to keep the material supple. When choosing your size, remember that leather often conforms to the shape of the foot over time; ensure a snug but comfortable fit initially.
