The Horseware Ireland Rambo Optimo Turnout is a high-performance, durable rug specifically engineered for larger-built horses that require extra freedom of movement and a customized fit. Crafted from 1000D Ballistic Nylon, it offers exceptional protection against the elements while maintaining high levels of breathability and comfort. While the rug is built to handle the most exuberant horses, prospective owners should note that it features an oversized design and Horseware recommends sizing down to ensure a proper fit.

The Optimo is specifically engineered with a more generous, wider fit for larger-built horses. Standard sizing may be too roomy for some horses, leading to slippage.
Yes, it is designed with a waterproof outer shell and comes with a Rambo three-year guarantee covering waterproofness and breathability.
The Optimo is designed for compatibility with the Optimo liner range. Using other brands may result in improper fit or attachment failure.
It is a safety feature on the surcingle straps that allows them to break away if the horse gets caught on an object, reducing the risk of injury.
The rug features a machine-washable label. Use a gentle cycle with a specialized rug wash to avoid damaging the waterproof barrier.
Yes, it includes a removable neck cover as part of the standard package.
Check that the surcingle straps are properly tensioned and ensure the front V-closure is not too loose.
Verify the rug size; because the Optimo is designed for larger horses, if it is too big, the shoulder area will move excessively. Size down if necessary.
Ensure all liner attachment points are securely fastened to the interior velcro tabs and loops of the outer rug.
To set up your Optimo, begin by fitting the V-Front closure at the chest, ensuring the neck cover is securely attached via the integrated points. When adjusting the three surcingle straps, ensure they are snug but allow for a hand's width between the strap and the horse's belly. The rug is machine washable, though you should follow specific care instructions to preserve the waterproof coating. Store the rug in the provided 'Bag for Life' during the off-season to keep it clean and protected. It is fully compatible with the Optimo liner range, allowing you to swap weights easily based on changing weather conditions.
