Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installing these bolts is straightforward. Ensure the frame bosses are free of debris or old thread-locking compound before installation. Use a clean, appropriately sized hex key to tighten the bolts. Because aluminum is softer than steel, it is recommended to use a torque wrench set to the manufacturer's suggested torque—typically light pressure is sufficient to secure a cage. Avoid using power tools to prevent stripping. Periodically check the tightness of the bolts after long rides on harsh terrain to ensure they remain secure. When cleaning your bike, a simple wipe with a soft cloth will maintain the luster of the anodized finish.
