FAQs

Are these shoes suitable for running?

No, the Lonsdale Merton is designed for lifestyle and casual walking purposes, not for high-impact athletic performance.

Can I wash these in a washing machine?

It is not recommended. Machine washing can ruin the suede material and compromise the integrity of the adhesive bonding.

What is the best way to protect the suede?

We recommend using a professional-grade suede protector spray immediately after purchase to prevent stains and liquid absorption.

How do I ensure the correct fit?

The hook and loop closure provides adjustability. If you are between sizes, ensure your heel sits firmly against the back of the shoe without slipping.

Does the EVA insole provide arch support?

The EVA insole provides basic cushioning and comfort, but it does not feature specialized orthopedic arch support.

Troubleshooting

The hook and loop fastener loses grip

Check for lint or debris caught in the hooks and carefully remove it with tweezers or a stiff brush.

Suede upper looks flat or matted

Gently use a suede brush in a circular motion to lift the nap and restore the textured appearance.

Minor scuff marks on the surface

Use a suede eraser to gently rub the scuffed area until the mark is lifted.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Lightweight design prevents foot fatigue during long days
Easy on-and-off functionality via the hook and loop closure
Sophisticated silhouette suitable for a variety of casual styles
Cushioned interior offers immediate comfort out of the box

Cons

Suede material is susceptible to water damage and staining
Not intended for high-intensity athletic activities
Requires regular brushing to maintain the texture of the suede

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Because these are slip-on style trainers with a secure strap, there is no complex setup required. Simply adjust the hook and loop fastener to match your foot's width upon first wear.

Care Instructions:

Cleaning: Use a specialized suede brush to remove surface dust and dirt. Avoid water-based cleaners as they can damage the nap of the suede.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can fade the brown colour over time.
Protection: Apply a suede-safe waterproof spray to add a protective barrier against minor spills, though they should not be submerged in water.
