FAQs

Is the hood removable?

No, the Marron jacket features a 'grown-on' hood, meaning it is permanently attached to the jacket structure.

Can I wash this in a standard washing machine?

Yes, but use a cool, gentle cycle and a technical garment wash instead of standard detergent.

What does Isotex 15,000 mean?

It indicates a high level of waterproof protection (15,000mm hydrostatic head) while remaining highly breathable.

Does it have internal pockets?

The design includes multiple pockets for practicality; please check the specific garment interior for integrated stash pockets.

Is the insulation heavy?

The feather-free insulation is designed to be lightweight and efficient, providing warmth without excessive bulk.

Troubleshooting

Water is soaking into the fabric surface rather than beading off

The DWR coating has worn off. Wash the jacket with a technical cleaner and apply a spray-on reproofing treatment.

Feeling damp inside despite it not raining

Check if you are overdressing. The jacket is breathable, but if the temperature difference between inside and outside is too high, condensation may occur.

Zip feels stiff or sticks

Ensure no fabric is caught in the zipper teeth. Use a dry lubricant or a pencil lead rubbed along the teeth to help it glide.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Superior waterproof and breathable rating (Isotex 15,000)
Flattering longline cut with adjustable waist
Warm, feather-free synthetic insulation
Practical multi-pocket storage
Comfortable ribbed cuffs for heat retention

Cons

Longer length may restrict high-activity movement compared to shorter jackets
Requires specific care for waterproof coating maintenance
Not intended for extreme high-altitude mountaineering

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To maintain the jacket's performance, wash it on a gentle cycle using a technical cleaner designed for waterproof garments. Avoid using standard biological detergents or fabric softeners, as these can strip the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating from the surface. Periodically, you may need to re-proof the exterior with a spray-on treatment if you notice water no longer 'beading' on the fabric surface. Always air dry the jacket away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can damage the synthetic fibers and waterproof membrane.
