Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup
- Initial Fitting: Loosen the laces thoroughly before slipping your foot into the boot. Ensure your heel is comfortably seated at the back. Adjust the laces from the bottom upwards, ensuring a snug fit across your foot without being uncomfortably tight.
- Lacing Technique: Experiment with different lacing patterns if you experience pressure points. A 'window lacing' technique can relieve pressure on the instep. Ensure all eyelets are used for optimal support.
- Break-in: Although designed for comfort, a brief break-in period of 2-3 light training sessions can help the FlyTouch Plus engineered leather mold perfectly to your foot's unique contours.
Compatibility
- Playing Surface: These boots are exclusively designed for Artificial Ground (AG) surfaces, including 3G and 4G synthetic pitches. Using them on natural grass (Firm Ground - FG) or hard ground (HG) is not recommended and can lead to soleplate damage, potential injury, and reduced product lifespan.
- Sizing: This variant is UK size 7. Always refer to Nike's official sizing guide when purchasing to ensure the best fit, as boot sizing can differ from regular shoe sizing.
Care
- Post-Match Cleaning: After each use, especially on artificial grass which can leave behind rubber infill, gently tap the boots together to dislodge loose debris. Use a soft brush (an old toothbrush works well) to meticulously clean the soleplate studs.
- Upper Cleaning: For the synthetic leather upper, wipe clean with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap if necessary. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive sponges, or strong detergents.
- Drying: Never dry your boots using direct heat sources such as radiators, heaters, or direct sunlight, as this can cause materials to shrink, crack, or become brittle. Instead, stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape, then allow them to air dry in a cool, well-ventilated area.
- Odor Prevention: To minimize odor build-up, remove the insoles after each use and allow them to air out separately. Consider using boot deodorizers or cedar shoe trees to absorb moisture and maintain freshness.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag to protect them from dust and damage during transport.
