Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Barbour Wilton Chelsea Wellington Boots require no complex setup. Simply use the integrated pull tabs and elastic side panels to comfortably slide your feet into the boots. For initial use, it's recommended to wear them around the house for a short period to allow the rubber to conform slightly to your foot shape.
Compatibility
These boots are highly versatile. They pair well with casual attire such as jeans, leggings, or skirts, and are suitable for various settings from country walks to city streets. They are compatible with most sock types; however, a mid-calf sock may offer additional comfort and prevent rubbing against the ankle. Designed for temperate to mild wet conditions, they perform optimally on grass, dirt, gravel, and wet pavement.
Care
To ensure the longevity and appearance of your boots, follow these care instructions:
- Cleaning: After each use, especially if dirty, wipe down the rubber exterior with a damp cloth or rinse under cool water. For stubborn dirt, a soft brush can be used. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Always allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not dry them near direct heat sources like radiators or in direct sunlight, as this can cause the rubber to crack or degrade.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. To help maintain their shape, you can stuff them with crumpled newspaper or boot shapers.
- Maintenance: Occasionally, you may apply a rubber boot conditioner to keep the material supple and prevent cracking. Avoid folding or creasing the boots for extended periods.
