Full details
The New Balance 990v4 trainers are designed for adult men who value a blend of heritage performance, iconic style, and long-lasting comfort in their everyday footwear. These shoes provide a superior cushioned experience thanks to the brand's signature midsole technology, making them an excellent choice for both active runners and those seeking a premium lifestyle sneaker. One caveat for prospective owners is that the suede construction requires careful maintenance to preserve its appearance and texture over time.

FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for serious marathon running?
While the 990v4 has roots in performance running, modern specialized distance shoes may offer more advanced lightweight materials; however, they remain excellent for daily jogs and consistent exercise.
Can I use a water repellent spray on these?
Yes, using a high-quality suede-safe water repellent spray can help protect the material from light rain and stains.
How do I determine if the UK 11 size is right for me?
New Balance typically follows standard sizing; we recommend measuring your foot at the end of the day when it is at its largest and comparing it to our size chart.
Can I replace the insoles?
Yes, the insoles are removable, allowing you to insert custom orthotics if preferred.
What is the best way to clean the rubber outsole?
A damp cloth with mild soap is usually sufficient to wipe down the rubber outsole and remove dirt buildup.
Do these shoes come in other colors?
The 990v4 series is produced in various colorways, though availability depends on current inventory and specific production runs.
Troubleshooting
Visible dirt or marks on the suede
Use a specialized suede eraser or a dry, soft brush to gently lift stains and restore the nap.
Shoes feeling slightly stiff initially
The 990v4 typically requires a short 'break-in' period; wear them for shorter durations during the first few days to allow the materials to adapt to your foot.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your New Balance 990v4 trainers remain in top condition, follow these guidelines:
- Care: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dust and surface debris from the suede after each use. Avoid machine washing, as it can damage the suede texture and compromise the adhesives.
- Moisture: If the shoes become wet, allow them to air dry away from direct heat sources like radiators to prevent the suede from becoming brittle or stiff.
- Compatibility: These trainers pair well with both technical athletic wear and casual attire like denim or chinos, making them highly versatile for a male adult wardrobe.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place and use a shoe tree if possible to help the trainers maintain their original shape.
