Product Information

Full details

The Shokz OpenDots Air is designed for active individuals, commuters, and fitness enthusiasts who need to remain situationally aware while listening to audio. By utilizing an innovative open-ear, clip-on design, these earbuds provide long-lasting comfort without blocking the ear canal, delivering high-quality sound through Bassphere technology. While they are exceptional for staying connected to your environment, the open-ear design does mean they lack the noise-isolating properties found in traditional in-ear headphones.

FAQs

Are the OpenDots Air waterproof?

They are IP54 rated, meaning they are water-resistant against sweat and light rain, but they are not fully waterproof and should not be submerged.

Can I use just one earbud at a time?

Yes, the OpenDots Air supports single-earbud use for both audio playback and phone calls.

Do these earbuds have noise cancellation?

They feature AI noise-canceling technology for the microphone to improve call quality, but they do not have active noise cancellation (ANC) for blocking environmental noise.

How do I trigger the touch controls?

Use the designated touch-sensitive areas on the earbuds to play/pause, skip tracks, or answer incoming calls.

What is the wireless range?

The earbuds utilize Bluetooth 6.1, which typically supports a stable connection up to 10 meters (33 feet) from the source device.

Troubleshooting

Earbuds are not pairing to the device

Ensure the earbuds are in pairing mode and move the source device within 3 feet of the buds.

One earbud is quieter than the other

Check the audio balance settings on your connected device and clean the speaker mesh with a soft brush.

Battery not holding a charge

Clean the metal charging contacts on the buds and inside the case using a dry cotton swab.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To pair your OpenDots Air, enable Bluetooth on your device and select the earbuds from the list after opening the charging case. These earbuds support multipoint pairing, allowing you to connect to a phone and laptop simultaneously; you can manage these settings through the touch controls.

For daily maintenance, wipe the earbuds with a soft, lint-free cloth after workouts to remove sweat or debris. While the IP54 rating protects against moisture, avoid submerging the earbuds in water or using harsh chemical cleaners. Always ensure the charging pins on both the earbuds and the case are clean and dry before docking to maintain optimal charging performance.
