FAQs

Are these shoes true to size?

The Clarks Wallabee Lite generally fits true to standard UK sizing for women.

Can I put these in the washing machine?

No, never machine wash suede shoes. It will ruin the material and damage the crepe sole.

Is the crepe sole replaceable?

Crepe soles are durable, but they are not typically intended to be replaced; consult a professional cobbler for specialized repair advice.

How do I protect the suede from rain?

Use a dedicated suede protector spray that creates a barrier against water and stains, ensuring you follow the spray manufacturer's instructions.

Are these suitable for wide feet?

The Wallabee design is generally accommodating, but suede does have a natural amount of 'give' over time, allowing for a comfortable break-in process.

Troubleshooting

Suede appears dull or dusty

Use a specialized suede brush or a clean eraser to gently lift the nap and remove surface dust.

Crepe sole feels sticky

Crepe rubber can become tacky in extreme heat; keep shoes stored in a cool environment and clean the soles with a damp cloth if grit accumulates.

Small water stains on suede

Lightly dampen the entire area with a very clean sponge and allow to dry naturally to prevent visible 'tide marks'.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Iconic, recognizable design
Lightweight build for superior daily comfort
High-quality suede material
Durable crepe sole provides reliable traction and support

Cons

Suede material is susceptible to staining in wet weather
Crepe soles can pick up dirt and debris more easily than synthetic materials
Limited to casual style settings

Setup, Compatibility & Care

These shoes are ready to wear straight out of the box. For optimal longevity, it is recommended to treat the suede with a protective water-repellent spray before the first use. To clean, use a soft-bristled suede brush to remove loose dirt gently. If the shoes become damp, allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can cause the suede to stiffen or shrink. Store them in a cool, dry place to prevent dust accumulation.
