While you can wear them on roads, the aggressive lug pattern of the Salomon Speedcross 3 is specifically designed for optimal grip on soft, uneven trail surfaces. Extended road running may lead to faster wear of the outsole and less cushioning than dedicated road shoes.
Gently brush off loose dirt. Use a soft brush and lukewarm water with a mild soap to clean the uppers and outsole. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Remove the sockliner and air dry naturally away from direct heat.
The Speed Lacing System is a quick and efficient way to secure your shoes. It uses a single Kevlar fiber lace that tightens with a pull, allowing for a fast and precise fit. The excess lace can be stored in a pocket on the tongue.
The Salomon Speedcross 3 features durable ripstop uppers and a mudguard that provide good weatherproofing and resistance to splashes and light rain. They are not fully waterproof like a Gore-Tex shoe, but offer substantial protection in damp conditions.
These shoes excel on soft, technical trails, including mud, loose dirt, rocky paths, and grassy terrains. The aggressive lugs are designed to bite into these surfaces for maximum traction and stability.
The EVA (Ethylene-vinyl acetate) midsole provides lightweight cushioning and shock absorption, helping to reduce impact on your joints and keep your feet comfortable during long periods of activity on varied terrain.
Ensure the outsole lugs are clean and free from embedded mud or debris. If worn, consider if the outsole needs replacing or if the terrain is beyond the shoe's optimal use.
Fully loosen the Quicklace system, then re-tighten by pulling the cord firmly and evenly. Ensure the excess lace is tucked securely into the lace pocket.
Check your sock choice for proper cushioning and moisture-wicking properties. Re-adjust the lacing to relieve pressure points. Ensure the shoe size is correct and allow for a break-in period if new.
While the ripstop uppers offer weatherproofing, they are not fully waterproof. For extremely wet conditions, consider waterproof socks or shoes specifically designed for full waterproofing. Ensure the mudguard is intact and properly maintained.
Remove the OrthoLite sockliners after each use to air them out. Clean the inside of the shoes with a mild antibacterial spray or baking soda solution. Ensure shoes are thoroughly dried after every wear.
