Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting Started
Upon receiving your dress, gently unpack it. Satin can wrinkle easily, so hanging it immediately on a padded hanger is recommended. A light steam may be necessary to remove any creases from packaging.
Compatibility
- Undergarments: Due to the open back and racer neckline, consider adhesive bras, silicone pasties, or a low-back strapless bra for seamless support.
- Footwear: Strappy heels or elegant pumps are recommended to complement the floor-length hem and enhance the dress's formal aesthetic. Ensure heels are comfortable for extended wear.
- Accessories: Delicate jewelry, such as a pendant necklace (if the racer neck allows), statement earrings, and a clutch bag, will complete your look without overpowering the dress's design.
Care & Maintenance
Caring for your satin dress properly will preserve its beauty and longevity:
- Cleaning: The primary recommendation for satin is dry cleaning. If hand washing, use cold water with a gentle detergent. Do not wring or twist the fabric. Gently press out excess water with a clean towel.
- Drying: Lay flat on a clean, dry towel or hang on a padded hanger, away from direct sunlight or heat, to air dry. Do not tumble dry.
- Ironing/Steaming: Use a steamer to remove wrinkles. If ironing, use the lowest heat setting for silk/satin, iron on the reverse side, and place a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric to prevent scorching or shine marks.
- Storage: Store on a padded hanger in a breathable garment bag to protect from dust and snags. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent color fading.
