The Barbour Short Bedale Wax Jacket in Olive is a versatile, weather-ready outerwear piece designed for men who appreciate a blend of traditional country heritage and modern, tailored aesthetics. Perfect for damp commutes and casual weekend excursions, this jacket provides reliable protection against the elements with its signature wax-cotton finish; however, users should note that the waxed fabric requires periodic maintenance to retain its water-repellent properties over time.

No. Machine washing will ruin the waxed finish and damage the cotton structure. Always wipe clean with a damp cloth.
Frequency depends on usage, but typically once a year for regular wearers is recommended to maintain weather protection.
The jacket is designed as a layer; while it offers wind protection, it is best paired with warm knitwear for colder temperatures.
Shake off excess moisture and hang it to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources like radiators.
This jacket features a tailored fit. If you plan on layering heavily, consider your usual size or refer to the size guide for specific measurements.
Apply a fresh coat of Barbour wax dressing to the outer fabric to restore the protective finish.
Gently clean the zipper teeth with a soft brush and apply a small amount of beeswax or specialized lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
Use a cold, damp sponge to wipe down the exterior; never use hot water or detergents.
To ensure the longevity of your Barbour jacket, avoid storing it in direct sunlight or damp conditions. Because of the wax finish, the jacket should never be dry-cleaned or machine-washed, as this will strip the protective coating. To clean, use a cold damp cloth to wipe away dirt. If the jacket begins to look dry or loses its water-repellent performance, it should be re-waxed using official Barbour wax dressing. This process helps maintain the integrity of the cotton fabric and ensures the garment remains a staple in your wardrobe for years.
