FAQs
Are these sandals waterproof?
They are designed to be water-ready and can handle submersion, though they are not waterproof in the sense of keeping feet dry; they are designed to drain and dry quickly.
Can these be worn for long hikes?
Yes, they provide more support than standard casual sandals, making them suitable for moderate hiking on varied terrain.
How do I determine my size?
These follow standard UK adult shoe sizing. It is recommended to choose your usual Nike footwear size.
What is the primary material?
The ACG Air Deschutz uses a combination of durable synthetic materials and high-traction rubber outsoles suited for the outdoors.
How should I clean them after a hike?
Use mild soap and a soft brush to remove dirt, rinse thoroughly with fresh water, and air dry in the shade.
Troubleshooting
Straps feel loose during activity
Re-adjust the tension on the primary heel and instep straps to ensure they are cinched securely before starting your activity.
Debris getting trapped under the footbed
Periodically remove the sandals to rinse out sand or grit, which helps prevent skin irritation during extended wear.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Durable build quality for rough use
- Excellent support for an outdoor sandal
- Secure strap system prevents slippage
- Versatile enough for both water and dry trail use
Cons
- Not intended for formal or professional environments
- Requires proper strap adjustment to avoid chafing
- Limited to specific sizing options within the ACG series
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the best experience, adjust the hook-and-loop straps while sitting to ensure a snug, comfortable fit across the instep and around the heel. These sandals are generally true to size for adult male feet. After use in saltwater or muddy conditions, rinse the sandals with fresh water and allow them to air dry away from direct heat sources to prevent material degradation. Store in a cool, dry place to maintain the integrity of the straps.
