FAQs

Will this fit the standard Tempest 150?

No, this is specifically engineered for the Tempest RS 150 version.

Does it help with condensation?

Yes, by adding a second layer of fabric, it creates an air gap that significantly reduces condensation drip inside the shelter.

Can I leave the cap on when packing away the shelter?

It is recommended to remove the Skull Cap before packing down the main shelter to avoid damaging the material or the magnetic straps.

How do I clean the Aquatexx fabric?

Use clean, cold water and a soft sponge. Avoid detergents, as they can strip the water-repellent properties.

Are the rod straps magnetic?

Yes, it features two magnetic rod straps to keep your setup secure.

Troubleshooting

Water pooling on the top of the cap

Adjust the tension straps at the rear and sides to ensure the fabric is pulled tight and the guttering is angled correctly for runoff.

Cap feels loose or flaps in the wind

Check all connection points and ensure the peak tensioner is fully engaged.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly reduces internal condensation build-up
Extends peak length for better door area weather protection
Constructed from durable, premium-grade Aquatexx fabric
Easy to install over existing shelter structure
Provides cooling shade during intense summer sun

Cons

Compatible only with the Tempest RS 150 model
Increases the total weight and pack-down size of your luggage
Requires proper tensioning for optimal water runoff

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: To attach, drape the Skull Cap over the front of the erected Tempest RS 150. Ensure the internal attachment points align with the shelter's frame. Secure the tension points to pull the fabric taut; proper tension is vital to ensure that the improved guttering functions correctly during rainfall.

Compatibility: This product is specifically designed to fit the Trakker Tempest RS 150 model (MPN: 200542). It will not fit standard Tempest 150 or other variants.

Care: Always ensure the material is completely dry before packing away to prevent mildew. Wipe down with a damp cloth if dirty; do not use harsh chemical cleaners, as these can compromise the water-repellent coating of the Aquatexx fabric.
