Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting the most out of your Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 41 involves proper initial setup, understanding its ideal use, and regular care.
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the secure lacing closure is adjusted to your comfort. Start by loosening all laces, then tighten from the toe upwards, ensuring a snug but not restrictive fit across the midfoot. Use the top eyelets for a more secure 'heel lock' if needed.
- First Wear: Wear your new shoes indoors for a short period to get a feel for the fit and cushioning before your first run.
Compatibility
- Running Surface: Primarily designed for road running and paved surfaces. While they can handle light gravel paths, they are not intended for technical trail running.
- Foot Type: Best suited for runners with neutral pronation or mild overpronation. For severe pronation, additional support or stability shoes may be required.
- Activities: Ideal for daily running, general fitness training, walking, and casual wear.
Product Care
Proper care extends the lifespan and maintains the performance of your Pegasus 41.
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the upper and outsole with a damp cloth using mild soap (e.g., dish soap diluted with water). Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, which can cause materials to shrink, crack, or lose shape.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures. Consider using shoe trees or stuffing with newspaper to maintain their shape.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, remove the insoles and air them out. You can also sprinkle baking soda inside the shoes to absorb moisture and neutralize smells.
