The Regatta Calderdale Hooded Hiking Waterproof Jacket is designed for adult males seeking reliable protection during wet weather activities. Its key benefit is offering waterproof and breathable performance at a comfortable stretch fabric, ideal for hill walks, hiking trails, and daily use. A potential caveat is that while highly waterproof, extreme conditions might test its limits for prolonged periods.

'Isotex 15000' refers to the fabric's rating for waterproofness and breathability. It means the fabric can withstand a 15,000mm hydrostatic head (waterproofness) and has a breathability rating of 15,000g/m²/24 hours.
The jacket provides waterproof and windproof protection, but its insulation is minimal (part mesh, part polyester taffeta lining). For very cold weather, it is best used as an outer shell layered over insulating mid-layers.
Follow the specific care instructions: machine wash at 40°C, do not bleach, tumble dry on low, and iron on low. Periodically reapply a DWR treatment to maintain its water-repellent properties.
Yes, the jacket is designed for outdoor activities and can be worn with a backpack. The durable fabric should withstand some abrasion, but be mindful of very heavy or sharp-edged loads.
The adjustable shockcord hem allows you to tighten the bottom of the jacket, preventing wind and rain from entering from below and helping to trap warmth.
The product description states '2 zipped chest pockets'. While the zippers provide closure, the primary waterproof protection comes from the Isotex fabric and taped seams of the jacket body itself. It is advisable to store sensitive items in an inner zipped pocket or a waterproof pouch.
The Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish may have worn off. Reapply a DWR treatment suitable for outdoor fabrics following product instructions.
Gently clean the zipper teeth with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap. Dry thoroughly and apply a silicone-based lubricant or beeswax to the teeth.
Ensure all vents are open if applicable, and that the inner layers of clothing are not trapping moisture. Check that the jacket is not too tight, allowing for air circulation.
Verify that all seams are indeed taped. If leakage persists through taped seams, it may indicate a manufacturing defect. Contact the retailer or manufacturer.
