Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Try On: Wear your usual walking socks when trying on the boots to ensure an accurate fit. Ensure there is enough room for your toes to wiggle, but your heel should feel secure.
- Lacing: Lace the boots firmly but not too tightly. Walk around indoors for a short period to get a feel for them.
- Break-in Period: While often comfortable from the start, new walking boots can benefit from a short break-in period. Wear them for shorter walks initially before tackling longer hikes to allow them to conform to your feet.
Compatibility
These boots are compatible with a range of outdoor activities, including:
- Day hiking on various terrains
- Long walks on country paths or urban trails
- Casual outdoor wear in mixed weather conditions
They are designed to be worn with appropriate walking socks to enhance comfort, manage moisture, and prevent blisters.
Care Instructions
- Cleaning: After each use, especially if muddy, clean the boots with a soft brush and lukewarm water. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Waterproofing: Periodically re-treat the synthetic outer material with a suitable water-repellent spray designed for synthetic footwear. This will maintain the water-resistant properties.
- Storage: Store the boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider stuffing them with newspaper to help them retain their shape and absorb any residual moisture.
