Full details

The Vivienne Westwood Broken Pearl Necklace in gold is designed for fashion-forward adults who appreciate classic design subverted by avant-garde craftsmanship. This statement piece offers a luxurious aesthetic that blends historical Rococo influence with modern punk elegance, making it an ideal choice for formal events or elevating everyday attire. While it provides a striking visual impact through its three-row draped design, users should note that the faux pearl construction requires careful handling to prevent scratching or accidental damage to the delicate finish.

FAQs

Is this necklace made with real pearls?

No, this design uses high-quality faux pearls to achieve the signature Vivienne Westwood look and texture.

Can I wear this in the shower?

It is not recommended to wear the necklace in the shower or during swimming, as water and soaps can degrade the finish on the pearls and the gold-tone hardware.

Does it come in other colors?

Yes, there is a silver version of the Broken Pearl Necklace available as a variant.

What is the history of this piece?

The piece was inspired by Rococo art and was first introduced by Vivienne Westwood in her Autumn-Winter 1996-97 collection.

How should I store the necklace?

Store it separately in a soft pouch to prevent the pearls from scratching against other objects.

Troubleshooting

Necklace strands have become tangled

Lay the necklace flat on a soft, clean surface. Use a thin needle or toothpick to gently tease the strands apart, working slowly to avoid applying pressure to the delicate links.

Clasp feels stiff

Check for debris or dust around the closure mechanism. Use a soft, dry brush to gently clear the hinge area.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To keep the Broken Pearl Necklace in pristine condition, avoid contact with perfumes, hairsprays, and lotions, as these can dull the pearl coating over time. When not in use, store the necklace in its original pouch or a soft-lined jewelry box to avoid contact with other metal jewelry that might scratch the faux pearls. To clean, gently wipe the pearls with a soft, slightly damp cloth without using harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners. Ensure the necklace is completely dry before storing to prevent moisture buildup in the clasp.
