Full details
The Saucony Guide 19 is an excellent choice for adult runners and walkers seeking a blend of maximal cushioning and reliable stability for daily use. Featuring updated PWRRUN foam for a responsive feel and Center Path Technology to ensure a balanced stride, these trainers offer high-level comfort and protection; however, the structured support may feel slightly firmer than pure neutral racing shoes, making them best suited for those who prioritize security over speed.

FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for high-arched feet?
Yes, the Guide 19 provides a stable platform that can accommodate various arch types, though you may add custom insoles if you require more specific support.
Can I put these shoes in the washing machine?
It is not recommended. Hand washing with a damp cloth and mild soap is best to preserve the structural foam and glue components.
How often should I replace my Guide 19 trainers?
Generally, trainers like these should be replaced every 300 to 500 miles, depending on your running surface and body weight.
What does Center Path Technology actually do?
It uses a wider base and supportive sidewalls to gently guide your foot through the center of the shoe, reducing unnecessary side-to-side motion.
Are these considered neutral or stability shoes?
The Guide 19 is a stability shoe, specifically designed for those who benefit from extra support through the gait cycle.
Troubleshooting
Feeling of pressure in the arch
Loosen the lacing over the midfoot area to allow the adaptive mesh to expand for a better fit.
Slipping at the heel
Use the extra eyelet at the top of the shoe to create a 'heel lock' lacing pattern for a more secure fit.
Material feels stiff upon first wear
Wear the shoes for shorter walks over 3-5 days to allow the foam and mesh upper to contour to your foot shape.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- High level of shock absorption with PWRRUN foam
- Balanced stability provided by Center Path Technology
- Breathable mesh upper keeps feet cool
- Versatile for both walking and training runs
- Reliable, consistent fit for daily use
Cons
- May feel less agile than lightweight performance shoes
- Requires a break-in period for the stability features
- Stability-focused design might feel too restrictive for some neutral runners
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the best performance from your Saucony Guide 19 trainers, ensure the laces are tied with a "runner's loop" if you require extra heel lockdown. These shoes are compatible with most standard aftermarket orthotics if additional arch support is needed. For care, avoid submerging the shoes in water or putting them in a dryer, as high heat can degrade the integrity of the PWRRUN foam. Clean the exterior using a soft brush and a mild detergent mixed with lukewarm water. Allow the shoes to air-dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, and remove the sock liner to expedite the drying process.
