The Thompson & Morgan Athena 35cm Antique Stone-Effect Planters are ideal for gardeners seeking a blend of classic aesthetic appeal and modern practicality, perfect for framing entrances, patios, or interior living spaces. These planters offer the sophisticated look of carved stone without the heavy weight, though users should note that the antique texture requires occasional gentle cleaning to maintain its visual appeal over time.

While the durable material is designed for outdoor use, we recommend moving them to a sheltered area during extreme freezing conditions to prevent material fatigue.
Yes, the material is generally easy to drill through if you require extra drainage, though the pre-drilled hole is sufficient for most plants.
The planters have a diameter of 35cm, making them suitable for most medium-sized shrubs and ornamental plants.
These planters do not include saucers, as they feature a removable rubber plug for drainage control when used indoors.
They are sturdy enough for most standard arrangements, but if you are planting tall, top-heavy plants, adding weight to the base is recommended.
Check if the drainage hole is clogged with soil or roots and ensure the rubber plug is removed for outdoor use.
Add a layer of heavy gravel or decorative stones to the bottom of the planter before adding soil to increase the center of gravity.
Clean the exterior using a soft brush or a damp cloth to remove accumulated debris from the carved-stone texture.
To set up your planters, place them on a level surface to ensure stability. If placing them outdoors, ensure the rubber drainage plug is removed to allow for water run-off. When used indoors, keep the plug securely in place. To maintain the 'antique' finish, gently wipe the exterior with a soft cloth and water; avoid using abrasive scrubbers or harsh chemical cleaners, as these may scratch the faux-stone surface. Periodically check the base and drainage holes for debris to keep the system functioning correctly.
