FAQs

How many people can realistically sleep in the 5m tent?

It can sleep up to 8 people comfortably on sleeping pads or mats.

Is the canvas waterproof?

The cotton canvas is designed for weather resistance; however, ensure the canvas is properly 'seasoned' by getting it wet and letting it dry once before your first big trip.

Can I use a real wood stove inside?

Yes, the tent includes a built-in stove jack specifically designed for use with compatible camping wood stoves.

What tools are needed for setup?

The tent includes all necessary poles, stakes, and ropes. A rubber mallet is recommended for driving the stakes into hard ground.

How do I clean the canvas?

Use a soft brush for dry dirt and a damp cloth for spots. Never put the tent in a washing machine.

Troubleshooting

Water pooling on the roof

Adjust the tension on the guy lines to ensure the canvas is taut and the slope is sufficient for runoff.

Interior condensation

Ensure all 8 mesh windows are cracked open and the stove jack vent is clear to allow for adequate cross-ventilation.

Tent feels unstable in wind

Check that all 16 ground stakes are driven in at a 45-degree angle away from the tent and that the 8 reflective ropes are pulled tight.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Extremely spacious and tall ceiling height
Highly versatile usage options (canopy vs. fully enclosed)
Excellent ventilation system with 8 mesh windows
Includes stove jack for year-round utility
High-quality cotton material for better climate control

Cons

Heavy to transport due to the canvas material
Requires significant pitch space for the 5m footprint
Longer setup time compared to modern pop-up tents

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setting up the VEVOR Bell Tent is a straightforward process, though it is recommended to have two people for efficiency. First, lay the groundsheet flat, assemble the center pole and A-frame door pole, and stake out the base. Once the base is secure, insert the poles and tension the guy ropes to achieve structural integrity. For care, always ensure the tent is completely dry before storage to prevent mold and mildew, which is critical given the cotton material. If the canvas gets dirty, gently brush off dried mud or wipe with a damp cloth; avoid harsh detergents that may strip the water-resistant treatment.
