FAQs

How many people can realistically fit in this tent?

The tent is rated for 10 people, which is ideal for floor sleeping mats; for cot setups, it comfortably fits 4-6 people.

Is the tent fireproof?

The canvas is naturally durable, but the stove jack area is the only part specifically designed to withstand heat. Always keep the stove away from the main walls.

Can I use this tent in the winter?

Yes, it is a four-season tent, but you should use a compatible wood stove to maintain a safe and comfortable internal temperature.

How heavy is the total package?

Due to the heavy-duty canvas and galvanized poles, the tent is substantial. Please check the specific package weight on your shipping label as it varies by specific sub-model components.

Does it come with a floor?

Yes, it includes a robust, heavy-duty PVC groundsheet that protects the interior.

Troubleshooting

Water leaking through canvas during heavy rain

New canvas may need to go through a 'weathering' process (getting wet and drying) to seal the seams, or apply a canvas-specific waterproofing treatment.

Difficulty inserting center pole

Ensure the perimeter stakes are pulled taut and the groundsheet is laid perfectly flat before raising the center pole to ensure correct tension.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Extremely spacious for large groups
Suitable for four-season use with stove compatibility
Durable galvanized iron pole structure
High-quality, breathable cotton canvas material
Comprehensive accessory kit included

Cons

Requires significant physical effort to set up
Heavy to transport compared to lightweight nylon tents
Large footprint limits campsite selection
Cotton canvas requires careful drying to prevent mold

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up, lay the PVC groundsheet flat, assemble the center pole and A-frame entrance pole, and stake the perimeter firmly using the provided reflective ropes. Always ensure the canvas is bone-dry before folding it into the storage bags to prevent mildew. The tent is compatible with most standard camping wood stoves that have a chimney pipe suitable for the tent's stove jack diameter. Clean the exterior by brushing off dried dirt; avoid harsh detergents that may damage the natural water-repellent properties of the cotton.
