Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Installing your Alan Symonds Chenille Blackout Curtains is straightforward thanks to their pencil pleat header.
- Unpack: Carefully remove curtains from packaging.
- Prepare: Lay the curtains flat to allow any creases to relax.
- Gather Pleats: Gather the pleats evenly across the top of the curtain to match the width of your track or pole. Insert universal curtain hooks into the woven pockets on the pencil pleat tape.
- Hang: Attach the hooks to your curtain track gliders or curtain rings on a pole. Ensure the curtains are evenly spaced for an optimal drape.
Compatibility

Care
To maintain the quality and appearance of your curtains, follow these care instructions:
- Washing: Machine wash on a `light cycle` only. Use cold or lukewarm water to prevent shrinkage or damage to the fabric.
- Drying: `Line dry` immediately after washing. Avoid tumble drying as high heat can damage the blackout layer and chenille texture.
- Ironing: If necessary, iron on a very `low heat setting` on the reverse side. Avoid direct high heat on the chenille fabric or blackout layer.
- Cleaning: Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Spot clean minor marks with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
