Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: As an automatic watch, the Timex 1983 E Line does not require battery replacement. If the watch has stopped, you can start it by gently shaking it for about 30 seconds, or by manually winding the crown by turning it clockwise while pulled out to the time-setting position (if your movement allows manual winding, though shaking is typically sufficient).
Compatibility: The Perfect Fit expansion band is designed to accommodate a range of wrist sizes comfortably. There are no electronic compatibility concerns.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wipe the stainless-steel case and band with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn smudges, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Crystal Care: The acrylic crystal can be polished to remove minor scratches using a plastic polish specifically designed for watch crystals. Follow the product instructions carefully.
- Avoid Magnets: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields, as they can affect the accuracy of an automatic movement.
- Water Resistance: While constructed from stainless steel, this watch is a dress watch and likely has limited water resistance. Avoid submerging it in water, swimming, or showering while wearing it.
