Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Getting started with your Camion Mules is straightforward:
- Unboxing: Carefully remove the mules from their packaging. They come with a box for storage.
- Initial Inspection: Check for any manufacturing imperfections. Familiarize yourself with the brass buckle mechanism.
- First Wear: Adjust the cross-over strap with the brass buckle to ensure a snug, comfortable fit. The leather may feel stiff initially but will soften with wear.
Compatibility:
- Gender: Designed for adult males.
- Sizes: Available in standard UK adult foot sizes (e.g., UK 6, 7, 8, 9, 10).
- Style: Highly versatile, complementing smart-casual, minimalist, and contemporary fashion aesthetics.
Care Instructions:
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the luxurious appearance of your Camion Mules:
- Cleaning the Leather Upper: Use a soft, damp cloth to gently wipe away surface dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a specialized leather cleaner appropriate for calf leather. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Conditioning: Apply a high-quality leather conditioner regularly (every 1-3 months depending on usage) to keep the leather supple and prevent drying or cracking. This is crucial for the Portuguese calf leather.
- Polishing: For a refreshed look and added protection, use a black leather polish. Buff with a soft brush or cloth.
- Sole Care: The Vibram outsole is durable but can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Storage: When not in use, store the mules in their original box or a shoe bag to protect them from dust and light. Use shoe trees to help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Avoid Excessive Moisture: While robust, prolonged exposure to heavy rain or standing water can damage the leather. If they get wet, allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat.
