Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Before your first use, ensure the laces are threaded correctly and evenly. Lace your boots securely but comfortably, allowing for a snug fit without being restrictive. The lacing system is designed to provide a customizable lockdown for your foot.
- Break-In: Like all performance footwear, these boots may require a short break-in period. Wear them for lighter training sessions or short periods initially to allow the `NIKESKIN synthetic` upper to mold to your foot's shape, maximizing comfort and feel.
Compatibility
These Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 Academy TF boots are engineered specifically for artificial turf (TF) surfaces. This includes most artificial grass pitches and older astroturf. They are not recommended for use on natural firm ground (FG), soft ground (SG), or indoor court (IC) surfaces. Using them on unsuitable surfaces can compromise performance, lead to premature wear of the outsole, and potentially increase the risk of injury.
Care
- Cleaning After Each Use: After every game or training session, remove loose dirt and debris from the upper and outsole using a soft brush or a damp cloth. For tougher grime, a mild soap solution can be used, but avoid harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: If the boots become wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb excess moisture and help maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, radiators, or other heat sources. Never machine wash or tumble dry, as this can damage the materials and construction.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures. Consider using a boot bag to protect them from dust and scratches when transporting.
- Insole Care: The cushioned insole can be removed for separate cleaning and airing, if desired, to help prevent odors.
