Full details
The Mäser Niara Ceramic Dinnerware Set in Grey is designed for homeowners who appreciate the intersection of Scandinavian minimalism and artistic craftsmanship. Its key benefit is its exceptional durability and unique, hand-applied aesthetic that elevates everyday dining into a sophisticated visual experience. While its distinctive reactive glazing creates a stunning look, potential buyers should note that the natural variation in pattern means that no two pieces are identical, requiring a preference for bespoke, organic style over perfectly uniform mass-produced dishware.

FAQs
Are the patterns on every piece exactly the same?
No. The Niara collection uses a unique glazing technique where shades flow differently on each piece, meaning every item is distinct.
Can I use these plates in the oven?
This set is designed for microwave and dishwasher use. Please refer to the specific packaging insert for oven-safe temperature limits, as stoneware generally prefers to avoid high-heat ovens.
What is the capacity of the cereal bowls?
The cereal bowls have a capacity of 750 ml and a diameter of 13.8 cm.
Is the material lead-free?
Yes, Mäser tableware is tested for food safety and complies with standard European safety regulations for ceramic materials.
Do the cups get too hot to hold in the microwave?
Due to the dense nature of stoneware, the cup may retain heat after long heating cycles. Use caution and allow a moment to cool before handling.
Troubleshooting
Visible streaks or marks after dishwashing
This is often due to hard water residue or soap film. Use a rinse aid in your dishwasher or buff the surface with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
Minor chips appearing on edges
Ensure items are not clashing in the dishwasher or being stacked too forcefully. Use cupboard shelf liners for added protection.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Unique, hand-applied aesthetic ensures each piece is one-of-a-kind
- Stoneware composition offers long-term durability and heat retention
- Generous capacity in both coffee cups and cereal bowls
- Microwave and dishwasher safe for practical daily operation
Cons
- Patterns vary between items due to the manual glazing process
- Matte finishes can occasionally show cutlery marks more visibly than gloss
- Heavier weight typical of stoneware compared to fine bone china
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Mäser Niara set retains its appearance for years, consider the following care guidelines:
- Initial Cleaning: Wash all items with mild detergent and warm water before the first use to remove any production dust.
- Dishwasher Protocol: While the set is dishwasher safe, avoid overloading the rack to prevent chips caused by pieces clattering together during the wash cycle.
- Microwave Usage: Safe for standard reheating tasks. Avoid extreme thermal shock; do not move the stoneware directly from a freezer to a hot microwave.
- Storage: Stoneware is stackable, but use felt dividers if you are worried about the matte exterior surfaces scratching against each other over long-term storage.
