FAQs

Is this jacket suitable for everyday school wear?

Yes, its durable construction makes it excellent for daily winter school commutes and outdoor recess.

Can I tumble dry the jacket?

It is generally recommended to air dry the jacket. High heat can damage the waterproof coating and the synthetic insulation.

Are the pockets truly waterproof?

The pockets use water-repellent zips which are highly resistant to snow and light rain, though they are not fully submersible.

How do I adjust the cuffs?

The cuffs feature integrated fasteners that allow you to tighten the opening around the wrist for a snug fit.

What should I do if the reflective strips get dirty?

Wipe them gently with a damp cloth; avoid abrasive scrubbing to ensure the reflective material remains effective.

Troubleshooting

Water soaking into the outer fabric

The DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating may have worn off; use a technical garment re-proofer spray to restore water beading properties.

Zip feels stiff or sticks

Check for debris or fabric caught in the zip track; clean the area and gently clear the blockage without forcing the slider.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent waterproof performance for wet snow
Breathable material prevents overheating during active play
Reflective safety elements for increased visibility
Customizable fit with adjustable cuffs and hood
Secure storage with water-repellent zippered pockets

Cons

Requires careful washing to maintain water-repellency
Detachable hood may be prone to snapping off if pulled forcefully
Polyester material needs to be kept away from extreme heat sources

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your DLX Gordy Ski Jacket, follow these guidelines:

Setup: Simply snap the hood into place using the integrated attachments if additional coverage is needed.
Compatibility: The design fits standard youth mid-layers perfectly, allowing for effective layering on particularly frigid days.
Care: Machine wash on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can degrade the waterproof membrane. Always air dry the jacket away from direct radiators or high-heat appliances to prevent damage to the synthetic fabric.
