FAQs

What is SpaceMax™ Technology?

SpaceMax™ Technology uses special insulation and thinner internal walls to create more usable storage space inside the refrigerator without increasing its external dimensions.

Do I need to defrost this fridge?

How can I use AI Energy Mode?

AI Energy Mode is available through the SmartThings app on Android and iOS devices. It requires a Wi-Fi connection and a Samsung account. Once activated, it automatically optimizes the compressor speed and defrost cycle based on your usage patterns.

What is the warranty period for this fridge?

The product comes with a 5-year warranty, and the Digital Inverter Compressor is backed by a 10-year warranty for added peace of mind.

Can the door be reversed?

Troubleshooting

Fridge is not cooling sufficiently.

Ensure the temperature settings are correct. Check that the door is closing properly and the seals are intact. Verify that the air vents are not blocked and that there is adequate space around the unit for ventilation. Avoid overloading the fridge.

Unusual noise is coming from the fridge.

Ensure the fridge is level. Some noises, like gurgling or humming, are normal operation sounds from the compressor and refrigerant. If the noise is excessively loud or persistent, contact customer support.

Frost is building up inside the fridge.

This unit features Total No Frost, so significant frost build-up indicates a potential issue. Check that the door is sealing correctly and that the vents are not blocked. If the problem persists, contact customer support.

SmartThings app not connecting.

Ensure your smartphone is connected to Wi-Fi and that the fridge has a stable Wi-Fi connection. Check that you are logged into your Samsung account correctly and that the SmartThings app is updated to the latest version.

Fridge interior light is not working.

The LED lamp is designed for longevity. If it fails, it may require professional replacement. Contact Samsung support for assistance.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

Placement: Ensure the fridge is placed on a level surface, away from direct sunlight and heat sources (like ovens or radiators). Allow adequate space around the unit for ventilation, as recommended in the user manual (typically a few centimeters on the sides, back, and top).
Power Connection: Plug the fridge into a suitable grounded electrical outlet. For users in the UK, this means using a Type G plug.
Initial Cooling: Allow the fridge to cool for several hours (usually 2-4) before loading it with food. This ensures it reaches the optimal operating temperature.

Compatibility:

SmartThings App: Requires a compatible smartphone (Android or iOS), a stable Wi-Fi connection, and a Samsung account to utilize features like remote monitoring, AI Energy Mode, and notifications.
Reversible Doors: The door hinge is initially set to the right but can be reversed to open from the left, offering flexibility in placement within your kitchen.

Care:

Interior Cleaning: Regularly clean the interior shelves, drawers, and door balconies with a mild detergent and warm water. Ensure all parts are dry before replacing them. The shelves are made of tempered glass for durability.
Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down the Gentle Silver exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the surface.
Ventilation: Periodically check that ventilation openings are not blocked by dust or debris to maintain efficient operation.
Door Seals: Clean the door seals to ensure they maintain a tight seal, preventing cold air from escaping.
