Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unpack and Position: Carefully unpack the fridge. Place it in your desired location, ensuring adequate ventilation around the back and sides.
- Leveling: Use the adjustable feet at the bottom to ensure the fridge is perfectly level. This prevents rattling and ensures efficient operation.
- Power On: Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet. Allow it to stand for at least 4 hours before turning it on and loading with food, to allow the refrigerant to settle.
- Temperature Setting: Use the adjustable thermostat to set your desired temperature. Start with a medium setting and adjust as needed after 24 hours.
- Reversible Door (Optional): If your kitchen layout requires it, the door can be reversed. Refer to the detailed instructions in your user manual for step-by-step guidance. This typically involves moving hinges and sometimes the handle to the opposite side.
Compatibility
This Russell Hobbs Larder Fridge is designed for standalone use in kitchens, utility rooms, or similar indoor environments. Its compact 55cm width makes it compatible with most standard kitchen gaps. As a larder fridge, it only provides refrigeration and does not have a freezer compartment.
Care
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the interior with a mild detergent and warm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth.
- Defrosting: As a larder fridge, it typically features automatic defrost. However, if ice build-up occurs, manually defrost by unplugging and leaving the door open.
- Temperature Management: Periodically check the thermostat setting to ensure it matches your needs, especially after large grocery hauls or changes in ambient room temperature.
- Door Seals: Ensure door seals are clean and free from obstructions to maintain energy efficiency.
