FAQs
Are these boots waterproof?
While the premium nubuck offers some natural resistance to light moisture, these boots are not fully waterproof. We highly recommend applying a waterproofing spray specifically designed for nubuck to enhance their protection against rain and moisture.
How do I clean the nubuck material?
For daily care, use a nubuck brush to gently remove loose dirt and dust. For deeper cleaning or stains, use a specialized nubuck cleaner according to its instructions. Avoid harsh soaps or excessive water, which can damage the nubuck.
What is the ReBOTL™ lining?
The ReBOTL™ fabric lining is an environmentally conscious material made from at least 50% recycled plastic bottles. This initiative helps reduce waste while providing a durable and comfortable interior lining for your boots.
Do these boots run true to size?
Timberland boots typically run true to size. However, we recommend checking the size chart and considering any personal preferences for fit, especially if you plan to wear thick socks, in which case you might consider sizing up slightly.
Can I wear these boots in winter conditions?
Yes, the robust lug sole provides good traction on icy or snowy surfaces, and the sturdy construction offers warmth. For extremely cold conditions, pair them with appropriate thermal socks for added insulation.
How do I break in new boots?
Wear your new boots for short periods at first, gradually increasing wear time. This allows the materials, especially the nubuck and footbed, to conform to your feet for optimal comfort. Wearing thicker socks initially can also help prevent rubbing.
What is OrthoLite® Impressions memory foam?
The OrthoLite® Impressions memory foam footbed provides adaptive cushioning that molds to the unique shape of your foot over time, delivering personalized and lasting comfort throughout your day.
Troubleshooting
My nubuck boots look dull or have scuff marks.
Use a dedicated nubuck brush to gently restore the nap and remove superficial dirt. For stubborn scuffs, a specialized nubuck eraser can help. Always test cleaning products on an inconspicuous area first.
Boots feel too tight or uncomfortable after initial wear.
Ensure you have selected the correct size. Nubuck and leather materials can soften and conform to your feet with wear. Try wearing them for short periods at home with thick socks to help break them in. Re-adjust the laces for a customized, comfortable fit.
Laces keep coming undone during wear.
Ensure you are tying a secure double knot. If the laces are old or worn, their texture might be too smooth. Consider replacing them with new, high-quality laces designed for boots to ensure a more secure hold.

Setup, Compatibility & Care Getting the most out of your Timberland Allington boots involves proper fitting, understanding their versatility, and maintaining their premium materials.
Setup
Wearing your Allington boots is straightforward. Unlace them sufficiently to allow your foot to slide in comfortably. Adjust the laces through the metal eyelets to achieve a snug, secure fit that supports your ankle without being too tight. Tie them securely. For optimal comfort, ensure your socks are not bunched up inside the boot.
Compatibility
These boots are versatile and can be paired with a range of outfits, from casual jeans and sweaters to more dressed-up skirts or dresses with tights. Their robust, industrial-inspired aesthetic makes them a strong statement piece, easily transitioning from a casual daytime look to an evening out.
Care
The premium nubuck uppers require specific care to maintain their appearance and longevity. Regularly brush off dirt and dust with a soft nubuck brush. For stains, use a specialized nubuck cleaner and follow the product instructions carefully. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain or harsh chemicals. Allow wet boots to air dry naturally away from direct heat. The ReBOTL™ fabric lining is durable and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth if needed. Consider using a waterproofing spray specifically designed for nubuck to protect them from moisture and prolong their lifespan.
