FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for long-distance running?
While highly supportive, the XT-4 OG is primarily designed for lifestyle use and light hiking. For dedicated distance running, consider a model from Salomon's specific performance running series.
Are the Salomon XT-4 OG trainers waterproof?
These trainers are not inherently waterproof. If you require water resistance, look for models labeled with GORE-TEX technology.
How do I choose the right size?
Salomon trainers generally follow standard sizing. If you have worn Salomon products before, we recommend sticking to your usual size.
Can the insoles be replaced?
Yes, the insoles are removable, allowing you to insert custom orthotics if necessary.
What is the best way to clean the silver finish?
Use a gentle, non-abrasive soap solution and a soft cloth to maintain the shine without damaging the reflective surface.
Troubleshooting
Feeling pressure points on the top of the foot
Adjust the tension of the lacing system to distribute pressure more evenly across the midfoot.
Outer surface accumulation of grime
Use a specialized sneaker cleaner and a soft brush to gently lift dirt from the mesh and synthetic panels.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Salomon XT-4 OG trainers, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Fitting: Ensure you are wearing your preferred athletic socks during the initial fitting to gauge proper room in the toe box.
- Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt or debris from the upper materials. For deeper stains, wipe gently with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid submersion in water.
- Drying: Always air-dry at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators, as these can warp the synthetic materials and compromise the adhesive integrity.
- Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading of the silver accents.
