Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Upon receiving your new trainers, ensure they are laced comfortably. Adjust the laces to achieve a snug, yet not overly tight, fit across the top of your foot. The regular fit is designed to be accommodating.
- First Wear: Wear your new SL 72 OG trainers for short periods initially to allow them to break in and conform to your foot shape.
Compatibility & Styling
These trainers are highly versatile and can complement a wide range of casual and smart-casual attire. Consider pairing them with:
- Denim: Classic blue or black jeans create a balanced, everyday look.
- Neutral Tones: Black, white, beige, and brown clothing will allow the leopard print to stand out as a focal point.
- Solid Colors: Avoid clashing patterns; solid-colored garments will best showcase the unique upper.
- Athleisure: Combine with joggers or track pants for a sophisticated take on athletic-inspired fashion.
Product Care & Maintenance
Proper care is essential to preserve the unique pony hair upper and overall longevity of your trainers.
- Pony Hair Cleaning: For the leopard print pony hair, use a soft-bristled brush (like a suede brush or a soft toothbrush) to gently brush in the direction of the hair. For light dirt, a damp cloth (not wet) can be used, dabbing gently rather than rubbing. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Spot Cleaning: For stubborn spots, use a specialized leather/suede cleaner sparingly on the affected area, following the product instructions carefully. Test on an inconspicuous area first.
- General Cleaning: For the textile and rubber components, wipe down with a mild soap solution and a soft cloth. Allow to air dry completely, away from direct heat or sunlight.
- Drying: Never put trainers in a washing machine or dryer. Always air dry at room temperature.
- Storage: Store your trainers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent material degradation and fading. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape.
- Water Exposure: Limit exposure to heavy rain or wet conditions, as excessive moisture can damage the pony hair and leather.
